Mysuru, 5 Feb

Six cows were poisoned to death by miscreants when they went to graze nearby forest areas  at Mamaradoddi in Hanur taluk of Chamarajanagar district on Thursday. Cattles belong to Thangavelu of the village.

As usual, Thangavelu took the cows to graze in nearby forest areas. Few hours of grazing in the forest areas,  his cows were found  dead after wailing in an open field near the village.

A similar case of poisoning another five cattles to death by miscreants was reported on Wednesday in neighbouring Shettally village after they went to graze in the forest.

Following increasing incidents, a team of revenue department officers and animal husbandry veterinary sciences visited Mamaradoddi village, inspected the spot, collected the samples and sent them to the laboratory after conducting the post-mortem of the animals.

Hanur taluk Tahasildar Chaithra told reporters that samples were sent to the laboratory after conducting the post-mortem of the animals.

Taluk administration will initiate stern action against the culprits involved in poisoning cows to death belonging to farmers.
